Hello, I’m Lynella Grant the Joyful Banker, a genuine person who wears a lot of hats. Here’s a real picture
of me (unlike the cartoons for the rest of the staff). I’m most proud of discovering the Binkle—the inspiration
for this whole website.

You’re visiting this weird and wonderful institution (which is anything but institutional) as my guests. So
I’m not about to hide behind a comic, invisible identity.

Recognize Important from Unimportant
As goofy and frivel-ous as The Joyful Banker may be, it’s true purpose is to point out what’s most important and enduring. It cares passionately about the important stuff. And it uses parody to poke fun at matters that don’t deserve all the frenzied attention they receive in our material-obsessed world. People are miles ahead of things! And they deserve to be binkled.

Personal integrity should never be overlooked as we deal with the business of living. It belongs in our daily thoughts, and in all the large and small gestures we make. This site is a way to bring such concerns to mind with light-hearted enjoyment. Authentic pleasures inspire us to pass joyful moments on to someone else who’d like some, too.

Applaud the Binkle Connection

About ten years ago I made up the term “binkle.” It’s the smallest particle of energy that’s created or released when people really connect. Its power is way out of proportion to its size. Binkles create energy

Binkle energy is so powerful, so helpful in protecting a person from lies and negative influences, that it’s downright life-changing. That’s why I’ve committed myself to making binkle become a familiar, everyday word. This Web site is one way that I’m working to make it happen.

    Launching the Binkle Movement

Another way to promote binkle energy is through The Binkle Foundation
(a real non-profit corporation), devoted to bringing more binkles and binkle awareness into the world. Half of any profits resulting from The Joyful Banker goes to the Foundation for that purpose.

I also wrote a fantasy-adventure book-length story for Young Adult readers and grown-ups, called   The Binkle and the Catawumpus Compass.   It delivers a high-binkle experience in an exciting and whimsical novel. Taken together (Banker, book, and Foundation), I’m actively promoting the Binkle Movement. I invite you to find more ways to build and expand it as well. What makes a movement a living force is when first one person and then another decides to pass an idea or vision along. By following their own spontaneous urges to put it into practice, it shifts from just being a good idea—so it truly catches fire. I sincerely hope the Binkle’s spark does, indeed start a wildfire.
