Strike Out the Half-Hearted (A BonBon)

Whenever confronted with a challenge, it is not enough to want the goal. You
also need a vision of what you want. Then you have to commit yourself to dealing
with any difficulties encountered along the way. Your dedication helps you mobilize
your energy, your drive, and your imagination with enough force to cut through
the inevitable obstacles.
Few events match our expectations, and seldom will
our initial plan be sufficient. Flexibility, that is rooted in a willingness to
adapt to new information, is necessary at each step.
You can be confident of one thing. Whatever you anticipate, there will be
unexpected difficulties. If you start out half-hearted, you will lack the drive,
the energy, the determination to carry on in the face of the escalating demands.
Half-hearted efforts cant achieve what you want. Obstacles are inevitable, but
they are not what stop you. The real problem is inside, determined by the intensity
of your desire and resolve.
Desire without effort is dreaming. It takes a whole-hearted effort to be fully
committed to the task. Half-hearted is half-committed, so what you accomplish will
inevitably be half-assed. Thats just not good enough.
Strike out the half-hearted; strike out the half-assed!
